Last week I interviewed Stacy Moon about what law firms are looking for from associates who they expect to transition from associate to partner. Today, we take a look at the other side of that coin – What are associates looking for from their law firms?
Associates at law firms often have the difficult job of balancing their firm’s expectations with their own needs. Most associates want to do a good job and be good lawyers. They experience the stress experiences the stresses of any other folks at work places, from financial pressure to difficult work environments. To be the most effective lawyers and employees they can be, associates may need some help along the way. There are things law firms can do to help their associates thrive and be successful in a way that promotes growth, strengthens the firm, and encourages loyalty.
