Applying Solutions to Unprecedented Problems with Tahmina Watson

Applying Solutions to Unprecedented Problems with Tahmina Watson

April 22, 2021 Posted by Jeremy W. Richter Lawyerpreneur Podcast

Tahmina Watson is both an immigrant to the United States and an immigration lawyer. And as you might expect, there is some correlation between those things. Tahmina has worked tirelessly over the last four years not only to aid those affected by immigration policy under the Trump Administration, but also to affect change so that the United States stops losing talented would-be immigrants to other countries.

Tahmina Watson is the founder of Watson Immigration Law in Seattle. She is the author of the books, The Startup Visa and Legal Heroes in the Trump Era. Tahmina is one of the founders of the legal network, Airport Lawyer. You can also find her on her podcast, Tahmina Talks Immigration, and on her weekly column for Above the Law.

Immigrants created this country brick by brick, rail track by rail track. Immigrants are part of the history and what’s happened over time. People have forgotten all the history, the stories that we have that seamlessly fit into who we are today. And by that, the notion that these these people are us. … Immigrants are part of the fabric of our country.

Note: Lawyerpreneur is typically an apolitical show. But in Episode 45 with Tahmina Watson, we necessarily discuss immigration policy under the administrations of Presidents Trump and Biden. And Watson shares her own views and experiences about the results of those policies.
