Ever since the launch of my first podcast, Lawyerpreneur, I’ve been trying to figure out how to use the interviews in a career-related book. In fact, the whole purpose behind starting the podcast was to create a book. I have outlines (now long abandoned) for four different books that never seemed like the right idea.
When it never came together, and I moved on to other things — most of which have involved writing novels under my pen name J. W. Judge. The project idea was dead, with no intent to revive it.
Then on Sunday, while sitting in church, an idea came to me about five basic themes that developed through the interviews and how I can use those to show elements of intentionally developing a career that works for you.
Now, I can hardly wait to finish the novel I’m working on to get into all these interviews again. I’ve already begun compiling them and obtaining releases from the guests. Then I’ll have to figure out how to cull 30+ interviews down to their most essential parts so the book isn’t 600 pages long.
I’m so excited about this project and the value that so many wise people’s words can have for an upcoming generation of young professionals.
